Specs that beat jetlag | the Daily Mail: "Scientists have developed glowing spectacles which they say can cure jetlag.
The high-tech glasses use blue and green light to trick the human body clock.
It means long-haul air passengers can step off the plane feeling fresh, even after a flight from Britain to Australia.
Researchers from Flinders University in Adelaide say experiments suggest the spectacles are effective in eliminating jetlag, which causes mental and physical fatigue.
Psychological tests carried out on volunteers on intercontinental flights have shown that passengers suffer mood disturbances, are not as alert and have a reduction in their decision-making.
There is a decline in muscle strength and endurance, and some experience heartburn and hunger at odd times of day. This is because travelling through different time zones throws the body's natural rhythms into confusion.
Our body clock takes its cue from the outside world. Light, dark, silence and noise tell the body when it should be asleep or awake."
